Sparrow Times

I should have napped

I could have had a nap this afternoon.  It was in almost every way a more likely event.  Instead I chose to get on my skateboard for a bit. And that snowballed into a semi productive Saturday.

It’s been sort of raining for the past week here, so my grass is way too long, but too wet to mow too.  I have finished my “poor excuse” for a blog, and though the css is partially in line, I can live with it, and most won't care.

A nap would have been an easy choice. And honestly a nap on a rainy day is often a perfect thing.

Lately I’ve been attempting to build habits the atomic way.  Find a bunch of habits, and then look at my day for triggers.
Coffee in the morning leads to Bullet Journaling. Looking out the bedroom window reminds me of the road, which makes me want to skateboard.

Sadly right now I lack something for my new habit push. I lack triggers.  I just don't have that many things that I can think of adding onto.

I work from home, so I don't really get ready for work or take public transport. I used to use the bus as a trigger to write, but that's no more.

I have a few more excuses for my perceived lack of triggers, but I'll cut to it..

I need to invent some..

I decided (after my partially productive day) to write down a list of things I could add, instead of focusing on what I don't have..

My typical work day ends at 5pm. That's what my contract says, so that's when I call it. I've set an alarm on my phone to go and get some orange juice or something at this time.  And when I come back from there, I'll write until 6pm.  That should allow me to get in my 500 words.

I'm going to add a pod cast session during lunch.  Which I will take away from the computer, and instead at the table in my kitchen. (So I don't fall into youtube again)

I am going to do my darnedest to build habits off the back of things I already do.
